IMPRESSIONS | ALBUM 2022 85 ©Alexandra Senfft ©Dachau Memorial ©Bavarian Memorial Foundation A P R I L New plaques for the Seestall-Kaufering VIII Memorial In April 2020, new plaques started to be installed at the Seestall-Kau- fering VIII Memorial. The project was initiated by the Bürgerforum Buntes Fuchstal, led by Alexandra Senfft, in cooperation with the Bavarian Memorial Foundation. The official inauguration, originally planned for 8 May 2020, had to be postponed due to the pandemic. The ceremo- ny was finally held on 1 May 2022 during the commemoration of the 77th anniversary of the liberation of the subcamp. J a n u a r y International Holocaust Day at the Dachau Memorial Each year on International Holocaust Remembrance Day, #WeRemember is used in the Unit- ed States to honour the victims of National Socialism. On 27 January, the Dachau Memorial welcomed Timothy Liston, who has served as U.S. Consul General in Munich since July 2021. During his visit, he under- scored the importance of this day and participated in a guided tour with Dr Gabriele Hammermann, Karl Kreller and Abba Naor, a survivor of the Kaufering subcamp.
