IMPRESSIONS | ALBUM 2022 83 ©Dachau Memorial ©Dachau Memorial J U N E CER at the Dachau Memorial On 1 June, the Conference of Euro­ pean Rabbis (CER) concluded its annual meeting with a commemo- rative event at the Dachau Memo- rial. The CER represents more than 700 Orthodox rabbis from across Europe. Following addresses at the Jewish Memorial by Dr Charlotte Knobloch (President of the IKG Munich and Upper Bavaria) and Joachim Herrmann (Bavarian Minis- ter of the Interior), the participants visited the Dachau Memorial on a guided tour. J U N E Commemoration of Pastor Wolfgang Niederstraßer On 26 June, Claudia Roth (State Minister of Culture) attended a me- morial service for Pastor Wolfgang Niederstraßer (1907–1981) at the Protestant Church of Reconciliation. Niederstraßer was the only Protes- tant pastor in Bavaria to be impris- oned in the Dachau concentration camp for his resistance to the Nazi regime. Minister Roth paid tribute to the pastor’s courage. The service was conducted by Regional Bishop Heinrich Bedford-Strohm.
