Initiator Karla Schönebeck, contem- porary witness Abba Naor (pictured right) and Karl Freller (Director of the Bavarian Memorial Foundation) participated in a panel discussion. S e p t e m b e r Bundesrat President visits the Dachau Memorial On 18 September, Bodo Ramelow (President of the German Bundes- rat) visited the Dachau Memorial. He was invited by Dr Björn Mens- ing from the Protestant Church of Reconciliation. The visit was part of the German-Polish commemoration of the 83rd anniversary of the first deportation of Poles to Dachau. During a poignant ceremony held at the Church of Reconciliation, attended by contemporary witnesses, Thuringian Minister- President Ramelow firmly rejected calls to abandon German remem- brance policy.
