IMPRESSIONS | ALBUM 2022 79 ©Bavarian Memorial Foundation ©Marchal ©Marchal O c t o b e r Belgian premiere of Für das Ende der Zeit On 26 October, guests from poli tics and society gathered at the Representation of Bavaria to the EU in Brussels for a moving evening featuring the Belgian premiere of Für das Ende der Zeit (For the End of Time) by Dachau artist Esther Glück. The screening was accompa- nied by a live quartet conducted by Elena Rachelis. The film, consisting of animated pencil drawings and etchings, explores the persecution of people under National Socialism and the experiences of war and displacement, visually interpreting Olivier Messiaen’s composition Quatour pour la fin du temps . The project, supported by the Bavarian Memorial Foundation, was first shown in 2012 at the Bavarian State Parliament. O C T O B E R International Memorial – restoration completed On 18 October, the Dachau Memorial and the Bavarian Memorial Foun- dation held a ceremony to celebrate the completion of the restoration of the International Memorial. The central bronze sculpture, People in BarbedWire, was originally created by the artist Nandor Glid in 1968. Following three years of extensive restoration work, the sculpture has now been returned to public view.
