His long-stand- ing companions, members of the memorial site’s leadership team and numerous current and former staff members of the Dachau Memorial came together to celebrate the occasion with him. As a contem porary witness, Abba Naor has devoted decades of his life to visiting hundreds of educational institutions. These activities are coordinated and supported by a team from the Education Depart- ment of the Dachau Memorial. M A Y Memorial plaques unveiled in Hurlach On 7 May, five new memorial plaques were unveiled at the concentration camp cemeteries and gravesites of the former Kaufering IV subcamp in Hurlach, in the Upper Bavarian district of Landsberg am Lech. Devel- oped and produced in cooperation with the municipality of Hurlach, the Local HistoryWorking Group and the European Holocaust Memorial Foun- dation, the plaques provide informa- tion on the Kaufering IV subcamp. Located on the former subcamp grounds, the new installations pres- ent the entire Landsberg/Kaufering subcamp complex – with a particular focus on the Kaufering IV subcamp, which served as a death camp until its liberation by the Allies in 1945.
