Looking ahead. 20 years of the Bavarian Memorial Foundation On 19 June, a formal state reception was held at the Munich Residenz to mark the 20th anniversary of the Bavarian Memorial Foundation, celebrating two decades of dedicated remembrance work. The event was attended by more than 250 invited guests, including Holocaust survivors. State Minister Dr Florian Herr- mann highlighted the foundation’s essential contribution to preserving the memory of National Socialist crimes. Claudia Roth, Minister of Culture, emphasised the importance of close cooperation between the federal and state governments in maintaining a vibrant culture of remembrance. Prof. Michael Piazolo, Minister of Education and Chairman of the Foun- dation Council, thanked all members of the staff, the many long-standing companions and supporters, and especially Karl Freller, for their dedication.
