Which types of media could make Dachau’s history more accessible? These questions were the starting point for a project envisioned by the Education Depart- ment at the Dachau Memorial. The result was a poignant graphic novel entitled A Lifelong Survival: The Dachau Concentration Camp in the Secret Notes of the Prisoner Edgar Kupfer-Koberwitz. It is now available as an animated short film and ePaper / flipbook – including an English version – together with free educational materials. M A R C H “Faces for the Names” – Mühldorfer Hart In March, the “Faces for the Names” remembrance project was held in the Mühldorfer Hart, organised by Terry Swartzberg (J.E.W.S. e.V.). The initiative paid tribute to the victims of Dachau’s second-largest sub- camp complex, where around 4,000 prisoners lost their lives. The light projections transformed names into faces, creating a vivid and moving form of remembrance at this histor- ically significant site. At the same time, local schoolchildren explored the lives and stories of the victims in dedicated workshops.
