POLITICS AND SOCIETY | SPEECHES   159 I must confess that I have no answers to these questions.   But I believe we must never stop searching for them. And   I want to promise today’s youth – and all future generations – that we will hand down a world free from such moral failure.   I do not know whether this hope will come true, but I am grateful for every person who has this goal in their heart. In closing, please allow me to express my deepest condolences to all victims who did not survive the suffering of this camp, and to those in other camps, and to their families. I would also like to extend my gratitude to the liberators and all who work to ensure that these tragedies are never forgotten – and that they never happen again. I would like to thank the Bavarian State Government for   organising this act of remembrance. Thank you for listening.
