They spent years travelling through neigh- bourhoods around the Auschwitz Memorial. Their photographs and interviews impressively document how horror and everyday life are interwoven. 2 0 2 3 ‘Dimensions of a Crime’ Soviet Prisoners of War in World War II 16 February – 11 June 2023 On 22 June 1941, Germany invaded the Soviet Union and captured 5.7 million Soviet soldiers. Over 3 million died from mistreatment, starvation and disease. The Nazi regime persecuted them for racial and political reasons. This exhibition provided an introduction to the topic. Visitors were presented with biographies detailing individual fates and could interact with media stations to explore selected memo- rial sites and critically engage with photography and photographs as historical sources.
